Calling all over 18’s – Book your COVID vaccination now!
We know that COVID-19 vaccination gives some protection against the serious effects of the Delta variant, which is increasing across the UK. Rutland Health will be coming to the end of Phase 2 of the vaccination programme (all adults over 18) at the Rutland vaccination centre in Oakham in the next few weeks, aiming to offer all adults their first appointment before the end of June.
If you are a patient of one of the four Rutland GP practices you can book at the Rutland Covid vaccination centre by using the link that is sent to your mobile phone as a text message (SMS).
If you have yet not shared your mobile number with your GP practice, see the Rutland Health website.
Reserve list
There are sometimes additional doses of vaccine available at the end of a clinic so that there is no wastage of vaccine. If you would like to be on a reserve list and are able to come at short notice for your first or second vaccination, please email rutlandhealth.cvp@nhs.net giving your name, availability and mobile phone number. You will need to be available to respond to a phone call (from a private number) normally after 4pm, and attend the vaccination centre at short notice the same day. Vaccine clinics are scheduled for Saturday 19 June (Pfizer), Tuesday June 22 (Pfizer), Wednesday June 23 (Pfizer), or Thursday June 24 (AstraZeneca), so please keep an ear open for a possible call on those days if you are on the reserve list.
Vaccine passports
GP practices are not able to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.
You need the NHS app to see your vaccination information, which can be downloaded here, or you can apply for a paper record from the national system.

First vaccinations
- People aged 18-40 will be offered the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Information about the vaccine is available here.
- Invitations to book at the Rutland vaccination centre are sent by SMS text messaging. The national NHS booking service does not allow you to book at the Rutland site.
