It's your NHS… Have your Say
The Government is investing an extra £20bn a year in the NHS as part of the Long Term Plan, setting out all the things it wants health services to do better for people across the country. Now the NHS needs to hear from you about what those changes should look like locally to help make the NHS better for you.
The Plan sets out what the NHS wants to do better, including making it easier for people to access support closer to home and via technology, doing more to help people stay well, and providing better support for people with cancer, mental health conditions, heart and lung diseases, long-term conditions, such as diabetes and arthritis, learning disabilities and autism, and for people as they get older and experience conditions such as dementia.
We want to hear from you about what you think should be done to make care better for your community.
- How would you help people live healthier lives?
- What would make health services better?
- How would you make it easier for people to take control of their own health and wellbeing?
- What would you do to make support better for people with long-term conditions?
The NHS Long Term Plan sets out ambitions for ensuring that the NHS is fit for the future over the next ten years and describes what health services can do better for people across the country. Our Healthwatch “What would you do?” campaign will help to shape what changes should look like locally in our communities in LLR to achieve those ambitions. Patients are experts on how it feels to receive care from the NHS and you all have your individual stories. By sharing them with us using the surveys and other events, you can make your voice heard.
Share your views with us and help make care better. There are two public surveys to capture your views and you can fill in one or both of them.
The first survey, “What would you do to give people more control over their care?” asks you to give feedback on your general experience of health and care services and what is important to you in how you are able to access them.
The second survey, “What would you do to give people better support?” allows you to select and share your experience of care for specific conditions such as heart and lung disease, cancer, dementia, learning disability, diabetes, arthritis, mental ill-health, autism and so on.
