Your chance to give your views: public meeting with NHS Managers to hear about latest plans for local health services, 19th November, 5pm, Rutland Council Offices in Oakham
This is our opportunity in Rutland to hear more about major plans for local NHS services from the Better Care Together partnership (also known previously as the Sustainability and Transformation Plan/Partnership, or STP).
On the agenda are some short term and longer term proposed changes.
In the short term:
- reconfigure top level Intensive Care Services at Leicester Hospitals and move Level 3 ICU and dependent services out of Leicester General Hospital
In the longer term, once funding is secured:
- reconfigure local Maternity Services and close St Mary’s Birthing unit in Melton Mowbray,- – care for more patients out of acute hospital settings – in the home and using local community based integrated services
- build additional capacity at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Glenfield Hospital,
- sell parts of Leicester General and develop a primary care hub and Diabetes centre of excellence on the remainder of the site.
