The NHS published the draft Strategic Transformational Plan (STP) at the end of November last year. The STP team has now planned engagement events with the public on the plan so that they can answer your questions, explain the thinking behind the plan, and hear any concerns people may have. It is important that you take the opportunity to attend one of these events if you want to have an input into the development of the plan – which wants to enable care closer to home, and which includes proposals to close Leicester General Hospital, the maternity unit at Melton and the beds at Rutland Memorial Hospital. These engagement events are in advance of formal consultation which will take place in a few months.
The planned events are:
- Voluntary Action Rutland in Oakham on Tuesday 24 January 2017 from 9.30am to 12pm
- Falcon Hotel in Uppingham on Thursday 26 January from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Please come along to one of these events if you can.
The draft STP can be found here: http://www.bettercareleicester.nhs.uk/ (we are awaiting a promised condensed summary of the draft plan, which we will forward to you as soon as we get it.)
